So there was a big mix up between me and the PCB manufacture for my latest LCD boards (Mostly their fault, but also some misunderstanding on my part) that delayed the boards by several weeks. I decided to try a new PCB manufacture for these test boards as it gives me an opportunity to discover new options for having my boards made. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have done it, but it is what it is. The simple story is that it came down to a small etch test pattern that I place on all of my boards so that I can quickly see how well any board house did on etching. My boards got placed on hold because the tolerance were too fine on that pattern and they were worried I would get a short (which would have been fine for an etch test pattern and kind of the point). I actually completely understand the reasoning and appreciate that they were trying to look out for me (make sure I didn't make a mistake) but the frustrating part is that I was never contacted about it. I didn't worry too much about the order until I realized my boards were not showing up in the mail. When I looked into it and inquired about the status, that is when I found out. The problem got fixed the same day, but now my order was being started when I should have already had it in hand. I now expect to have these this week... but we will see. I have been wrong many times before!
